WishCast Wed: What Rules Do You Wish to Make or Break?

Image: Google Images

Good Morning my fellow wishers and dreamers. Today is Wednesday and over at Jamie Ridler's Studio this is a day to wish and dream. The wish prompt today is : What Rules Do You Wish to Make or Break ?

This is hard because I am not a rule breaker, I had my rebellious stage in my late teens-early twenties, but before and after that I was always "the good girl".

So I say here and now that I wish to break that rule in my life, the rule of being the "good girl", the girl who is there for everyone even at the expense of self, the one who quietly sits by while everyone else says and gets what they want. Those days are over.

Truthfully this last year I have been slowly breaking this rule and it has been tough to break because not only does it effect me but the people in my life. When others are used to you being a certain way they have a hard time adjusting when you change. It has been eye opening in many ways to see who in my life is having the hardest time with this.

Besides the golden rules that we all live by I would like to add the following three:

Rule Number 1: Spend at least 1/2 hour in creative space a day, be it reading, writing, painting, collaging, cooking, drumming - anything that will flex the creative muscles on a daily basis. (see below pic this is my page in Carmen's Journal in my Art Saves Round Robin)

CLICK PIC to make bigger.

Rule Number 2: If upset about something: Check yourself before you wreck yourself. I am learning sometimes it is better not to say something, one of my friends says wait 24 hours and if you still feel the same then say something. I seem to be in a transitional stage lately and emotions are coming to the surface which are making me more sensitive than usual and that is saying something.

Rule Number 3: Health wise: Move your body in some way for 30 minutes a way, be it walking, dancing, jumping up and down just MOVE. Also health wise: If I don't recognize a food in the form it is in or it has more than 4 ingredients don't eat it, eat whole foods when possible.

Thanks for another wonderful wish prompt Jamie, they keep me thinking and blogging.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone's rules and whether they are making them or breaking them.

Namaste Friends,
Karen

What a wonderful post! May have to hijack those rules for myself. I'm very bad about rules.

As you wish for yourself, I scream out to the universe, YES!

As Karen wishes for herself, I wish for her as well. I love your rules. I think I am going to borrow the one about whole foods. It sounds just like what I need right now.

Good wishes and rules! I like the one about creative time especially, but really I think they are all great "rules" or guidelines!
I'm in transition myself. 2 more days of work then ???? More time for art, cooking and eating right and yoga that is for sure!

Karen, why did I even bother writing a post today when all I needed to say was, "see Karen's blog"? Not only do we have similar wishes but we chose the same image!!! :)

Hi Karen, what a powerful post. I love the photo with the seagull! He obviously didn't read it:-))

What a rebel!

Oh yes I can relate. Changing yourself and how it effects others ..

I am standing up for a rule I made a long time ago for me. Then I acted out. Now I am being there for me again and it's scary!

It's about how to be safe as a person and not be a codependent mother.

My son is a substance abuser and I broke my rule by helping him buy food.

Finally the universe stepped in and checked me on it.

Why was I doing it? To let go the fear.

To stop living a fearful life.

It is mothers day this sunday.

I fear he will again ignore me.

I didn't want the only way we connect is when I give him money.

It is sad.

Yay you for unfurling yourself at the pace that feels right, dealing with the adjustments as they come.

And I'm imagining all the gorgeous magic that will happen with 30 minutes of creativity and 30 minutes of moving a day. Enjoy!

As Karen wishes for herself, so I wish for her also. Excellent advice, those 3 rules. Especially the one about waiting 24 hours before saying something. That one alone can change my life, for sure. I like!

Love your journal page and cannot wait to see it in person! xoxo Serena
